weddings done differently
last weekend was the wedding of the century, whereby two lovely librarians (who fell in love as i was having my heart broken for the first time in my life, it was so good to see their happiness back then) wore great colours and signed bits of paper in a park. and then we all shuffled off the the leagues club for a night of food, karaoke and mischief. a wedding done differently for sure.
this weekend i also went to a weddng done differently, this time a picnic on lake macquarie the day after the church ceremony. the groom wore some spunky pants with thongs, the bride wore a wedding dress with a bonds tshirt. and we brought picnic food and rugs and ginger beer and sat around with the baby and relaxed under a tree.
this is our picnic lunch (if there’d been a competition we would have won apparently). it’s leftover seafood rice, greek style (made by bim for her romantic dinner date the night before), potato salad with class, a little cherry tomato and a piece of shanklish, which i bought on our household safari to lakemba the night before. all on the picnic rug, with much baby-ness to surround.
