three courses in one night
a couple of weekends ago i was tipsy by 6pm and stumbled into amy’s house for an interlude between outings (the beauty of a cousin living next to the train station…). one outcome of this tipsy-ness was demands on the boys for a dinner invitation for us all.
i demand, they provide it seems, and so on friday night we all shuffled off to check out their new kitchen in rushcutter’s bay, and were spoilt with a three course gayboy gourmet dinner.
course one was caramelised onion & parsnip soup… so sweet and thick and tasty (makes me think of regina spektor every time):
course two was the best! a winter nanna-dinner: corned beef with cabbage, carrot and potatoes, with a tasty tasty white sauce on top. who would have thought a hunk of pink meat could be so comforting? (although as i type that i get grossed out):
course three (after a long time for the other food to settle) was pears poached in red wine with vanilla cream. very stylish indeed:
